Shop My Stash: May and June 2017

shop my stash may june 2017

Shop My Stash 2017 is just about to hit the midway mark! Six months into this endeavour and I’m still going strong! I’m making my way through my collection and finding all sorts of products that I forgot about. It’s been a great exercise of discovery!

For those who are just joining us…

What is a Shop My Stash?

It’s exactly what it sounds like. Every month, I will be going into my makeup collection and – you guessed it – I will shop my stash. 🙂 Just think of it as a haul post but instead of makeup I bought at Sephora or at Shoppers Drug Mart, it’s a haul straight from my own collection! And I’m hoping that by doing this monthly, I won’t get bored of the products I chose like I did in last year’s Project Pan.

If you’re interested, you can find my other Shop My Stash posts here.

How Shop My Stash Works

Every month I will take one or two of these types of products and put them in a basket.

  • Face primer
  • Color correction (none this month)
  • Concealer
  • Foundation / BB Cream
  • Blush
  • Highlighter
  • Bronzer (none this month)
  • Setting powder
  • Pore reducer
  • Eye primer
  • Eye shadow (palette or singles)
  • Eyeliner
  • Brow
  • Brow setting gel
  • Mascara primer
  • Mascara
  • Setting Spray

If you haven’t noticed, I did not include any lip products (lipstick, lipgloss, etc.) to my list. This is because they are already in rotation in my purse. I change them around a lot so I didn’t think they needed special attention like the rest of these products!

At the end of each month I will have to make a few decisions: keep the product, continue using it (for those holy grail products I must always use) or get rid of it. I’m hoping that by doing this I can help identify my loves and get rid of what I don’t want anymore. I hope that I can get my collection under control.

Don’t get me wrong, though. I am not going to be limited to only using what’s in my basket. If there’s something I want to use then by all means, I will! The basket is just there to help give me something to focus on that month.

Then at the end of the month, I will summarize my monthly basket (what I loved, what I didn’t love, etc.) and then I will pick out a new basket of products!

Shop My Stash for May and June 2017

Because my April basket was used up to about the second week of April, I decided to use this next basket for the rest of May and into the month of June. I don’t mind adding a little extra time cause that just allows me to use up more of these products.

May and June’s basket is not that extensive. I am starting to realize that there are some types of products where I only have one product left and I won’t have to cycle through them anymore. A good example of this is my brow gel. I only have one now – the MAC Brow Set in Clear – so I have decided that this is going to be the last Shop My Stash it will be a part of. Also, by keeping a small basket of goodies and concentrating on certain products, the likelihood of finishing products is higher.

So let’s get started. 🙂

  • Eye shadow (palette or singles): Urban Decay Naked2 Palette, Laura Mercier Eye Art Artist’s Palette

So that’s it for now. It’s a pretty good basket of products! I am wondering if a month and a half is too long and I will get antsy and use more than what’s in the basket. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, of course! But I do need to concentrate on some products so I can have more empties and start throwing more out. The goal at the end of the day is to downsize my collection. My April one didn’t really identify much that I should get rid of so I need to improve that aspect of my Shop My Stash.

Ah well, this will always be a work in progress! I believe that as long as I continue on this route, my collection will shrink naturally. It just takes time. 🙂

Hope you had an amazing weekend everyone!

Shop My Stash Recap: April 2017

shop my stash april 2017

Yes… it is June. I apologize for my tardiness but for most of April and May, the NHL playoffs took over my life. This was the  first time in a very, very long time that the Oilers made it into the playoffs so to me it was a big deal! 11 years of not having post season hockey in Edmonton was rough so I had to watch every game and games were pretty pretty much every other day. The Oilers made it to Game 7 in Round 2 in the Western Conference semi-finals before getting eliminated. I’m so proud of this team! And now that the post season is over, my (and all the other hardcore fans here in YEG) life can get back to normal again… and for me, that means my evenings are free again and I can go back to blogging.

While this is my Shop My Stash recap from April, I still felt that it was important for me to write about it. It really helps in terms of accountability to myself and getting back on track. I used many of these products well into May and because of that I decided my next basket is what I used for the rest of May and into June.

Without further adieu, let’s get started!

For those of you who are new to this series, every month in 2017. I will be selecting (or ‘shopping’) different items from my makeup collection (aka the ‘Stash’) in an attempt to rediscover and use up what I already own instead of going to the store or shopping online. When your collection gets out of hand, you tend to forget what you already have.

If you want to read up more about this series, please see my introductory post. It contains a pretty thorough explanation as to what this is all about. 🙂  Also you can check out all my other Shop My Stash posts here.

I break down my recap posts into three parts: empties, keepers and rejects. Included is a quick write up about each product to express my thoughts about each one. I like to start off with success so lets look at the empties first! Grab a cup of tea or coffee. This is gonna be a long one – but a good one! I promise. 😉

The Empties

When I first started this, I knew that I could not sustain a steady stream of empties because it’s makeup and makeup is just that much harder to use up compared to something like skincare, for example. I just wouldn’t have as many empties as I would in the beginning. In the beginning, you’re excited about finishing products so, naturally, you start with the items that are well on their way to becoming empty anyways. Those are the “quick wins”. Once those are finished, empties might be few and far between in the makeup world as proven by my empties in April – there was only one.

shop my stash april 2017

Face Primer: Too Faced Hangover RX Replenishing Face Primer
I have used up a couple of these deluxe samples now and I continue to really love this primer. This super lightweight, very hydrating primer is one of my go-to’s! It absorbs quickly into my skin and has a light scent. It does a great job keeping my makeup in place. No complaints here! Other than the fact that this is empty. But that’s okay, I still have one more deluxe sample I can use.

The Keepers

There are a lot of keepers in April. That’s good and bad. Good because I have reassurance that I own products I like and even love. Not so good because keeping these items is not helping me make my makeup collection any smaller! We have a lot of ground to cover so we should begin now.

shop my stash april 2017

Face Primer: Smashbox Photo Finish More Than Primer Blemish Control
While this is not my favourite, it’s a small enough sample that I will likely use it up. I didn’t notice a difference with my blemishes at all but my makeup stayed put. Good enough reason to keep it.

Pore Reducer: Benefit POREfessional
Honestly, this is holy grail for me. It is great for the pores on my nose and forehead and it really helps to even out my skin prior to makeup application. You don’t need much so even a deluxe sized tube lasts a long time. I have a ton of these samples which is a great money saver as I won’t need to buy a full sized one yet. (Which I have used up before. A full sized tube truly does last forever!) I will continue to work through my deluxe samples happily.

Concealer: Maybelline FitMe Concealer in Medium
My boly grail drugstore concealer. It really does feel and look like a dupe for the NARS Radiant Cream Concealer (which I also love). Great coverage that’s buildable. The shade Medium is a perfect shade match for me, too. This is my second tube of this stuff. I love it that much. 🙂

Concealer: IT Cosmetics Bye By Undereye in Medium
Super thick, super coverage! I don’t often need this much coverage but when I do, it works so well. You don’t need to use much of it to be effective. It’s not my favourite but it’s still good enough to keep on hand.

Foundation / BB Cream: Maybelline FitMe Matte + Poreless Foundation in Natural Beige, Clinique Stay-Matte Oil-Free Makeup in Neutral
I just love the FitMe line from Maybelline. I just think all the products I have tried have been so great and this one is no different. Similar to the regular FitMe foundation, this also applies easily and does a great job covering up dark spots and blemishes, giving me a matte look. It blends great, too. I can’t say enough good things about these FitMe foundation and concealers.

Foundation / BB Cream: Clinique Stay-Matte Oil-Free Makeup in Neutral
This is a nice foundation that has medium coverage. IT fees light on my skin and blends nicely. I like the packaging because the squeeze tube makes it easy to use and is compact enough that it’s protable and great for traveling or handy to keep in your weekend bag. Like when I go camping and need a bit of coverage. 🙂

BlushElizabeth Mott Show Me Your Cheeks in Peach Pink
Seriously, I feel like I am repeating myself with all this holy grail business in this post but I only tell the truth. And this one is my holy grail blush! I have backups of it. Yes, plural. So I’m not afraid of using this gem from ipsy. I love using it! It’s the perfect shade for me! It’s so good. So good.

Blush: Physicians Formula Butter Blush in Natural Glow
Love this blush! It has nice pigmentation and it smells so nice. It’s so smooth and buttery, too! I can see how this product got it’s name. I will continue to use it, for sure!

Highlighter: Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Liquid Highlighter in Opal
I adore Becca highlighters but this was my first time trying the liquid version. You definitely don’t need very much to achieve a natural glow. I usually just use my finger to apply it and pat it on the spots I use highlighter on, such as high on my cheekbones and the bridge of my nose. I like it but I still prefer the pressed powder version.

Setting Powder: GOSH prime ‘n set Primer & Mattifying Setting Powder
This is my second tub of this stuff so that is proof enough that I really like this product. The Shoppers I go to (well, three locations to be exact) always seems to be sold out of this so when I finally saw it restocked, I snatched this one up! This translucent powder can also be used as a primer but I primarily use it to set my make up. It doesn’t look powdery on my face at all and my make up stays put. I think it’s great!

Mascara Primer: Wet n Wild PhotoFocus Lash Primer
I am starting to notice that the consistency of my Wet n Wild eyeshadow primer has changed. It is getting thicker. I like this product a lot but I think this only has a month… maaaybe two.. left before it ends up on my empties list. I have been using this since November or December so that makes sense.

Mascara: Benefit Roller Lash Deluxe Mascara
I still love this mascara. This particular tube has been in use since March so I will likely continue using it in May and June. It keeps my lashes curled and I found that it thickens my lashes, as well. Great all around! And I love these deluxe sized mascaras.

Mascara: Tarte Lights, Camera, Flashes Deluxe Mascara
Another great mascara! This has really been a pleasant surprise. I am really enjoying this one. It separates my lashes nicely and thickens and lengthens them, too. I may prefer this over the Roller Lash if I’m being honest with myself. Gah. They are both pretty great.

Brow: ColourPop Brow Pencil in Bangin’ Brunette
I really like this ColourPop brow pencil… except that it keeps breaking on me. The formulation is great and this is the perfect shade match so that my brows look filled in but natural. I just wish it wasn’t so fragile!

Brow Setting Gel: MAC Brow Set in Clear
Probably my third, perhaps fourth, tube. Love it. Enough said. I don’t have any other brow gel at the moment so I think for May and June, I will use this one and then discontinue this item from my Shop My Stash. When there’s only one, there’s no point bringing it back every month!

Eyeliner: Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper
Another holy grail but it’s drying out. I think this only has a month or two left in it, as well. This is definitely one that I will keep buying over and over again… well, maybe I will get my next KVD liquid liner after I finish the others I have first.

shop my stash april 2017

Eye primer: Wet n Wild PhotoFocus Eyeshadow Primer
This is a good eye primer. It keeps my shadow staying put and lasting all day. I will continue to use it.

Setting Spray: Urban Decay All-Nighter Makeup Setting Spray
So good! It helps keep my makeup on my face all day. It is also very refreshing to spray on anytime during the day. Love it.

Eyeshadow (palette or singles): Too Faced Natural Eyes Neutral Eye Shadow Collection
A holy grail palette of mine. I know.. this phrase is starting to get overused in this post! I don’t have many palettes where I have hit pan on but for this one, I have hit pan on three shades! It’s just so versatile and you can use it with any look from natural to glam and that is why I love it. Such a great palette to have in one’s collection.

Eyeshadow (palette or singles): tarte Tartelette tease palette
Love this one, too! I’ve hit pan on one shade. The mirror is also great so I do sometimes keep this in my purse. Like the Too Faced palette I just talked about, this one is very pigmented and the shades are so versatile. The shades are also so me.

The Rejects

There is only one in April. I’m not sure if that’s good or bad. Good because I did actually spend my money on products I like or love. Bad because I am trying to destash and I’m only getting rid of one thing. But it’s still something!

shop my stash april 2017

Foundation / BB Cream: Maybelline Dream Velvet Soft-Matte Hydrating Foundation in Natural Beige
Natural Beige is definitely not my shade… which is odd because most natural beige shades work for me. I find this shade too grey for my skin tone. It just doesn’t look good at all.

So that’s it for now! There were a lot of products I loved in April! It was a good month and I really liked (most) everything that I used.

My May and June Shop My Stash post is well overdue. I already have that blog post in progress (I was working on it in tandem with this one) so check back in a few days as I plan to have it posted this weekend. 🙂

I hope you’re all having a great week! Until next time! 🙂

Haul: Sephora VIB Sale Spring 2017

Sephora VIB Spring Sale 2017

It’s that time of year again! Sephora had their spring sale this past week and I decided to stop by the store on the first day of the sale. The first day for VIB Rouge members was on April 18th and you received 15% off your entire purchase.  VIB  members received 15% off and BI members received 10% but their sale started a day later. It’s a great perk for Rouge members to be able to start shopping a day before everyone else because you are likely to find what you want and it’s not sold out yet.

Sephora only has sales twice a year (once in April which is 15% and once in November which is 20%) so it is a great time to get stuff you have added to your Loves list at a discount.

I am on a low buy which had started as a no buy but that was darn near impossible for me to keep up. Because of that I didn’t end up with a massive haul. My bank account is quite thankful and now I have some spending money for a couple of things that are coming up. Whew.

Anyways, let me take you through my haul. It includes some products that are already a favourite of mine, others which I haven’t tried before but would like to because I heard it was great and a couple of things I had my eye on for a little while now. So a good mix, if you ask me! Let’s take a look at each of them, one by one. Please note that the first prices shown below are the product’s regular price at Sephora and does not take into account the 15% discount yet but the second price does.

I did end up getting some skincare during the sale. I bought the Caudalie Vinosource Hydrating Helpers set (original price $59.00 CAD, sale price $50.15 CAD) because it contained a full size of my favourite moisturizer and then some. This limited edition kit is such a great deal and contains the following items:

  • Caudalie Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet, 40 ml (retails for $49.00 CAD and is full size)
  • Caudalie Grape Water, 75 ml (retails for $14.00 CAD and is full size)
  • Caudalie Moisturizing Mask, 15 ml (deluxe size that would retail for $9.00 CAD)

Sephora VIB Spring Sale 2017 - Caudalie

With two full sized items. this is totally a win. I have had a couple of deluxe samples of the Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet and I really like it. My skin feels great after using it and it keeps my skin hydrated. It absorbs quickly and is not sticky. While the smell seems a bit like herbs, I don’t mind it at all and the smell doesn’t linger. I have heard good things about both the Grape Water and Moisturizing Mask so I’m looking forward to trying them.

Sephora VIB Spring Sale 2017 - Caudalie

Sephora VIB Spring Sale 2017 - Caudalie

And that tin! How cute is that? I have a huge soft spot for Paris too so this was perfect for me. I have already decided how to repurpose it and that I will be using it for my brushes… the excess that is clean and isn’t currently in use and in my brush cup on my vanity. Glad I have a way to repurpose the tin. 🙂

Walking past the “gauntlet of doom” (which is what I call that dangerous area that you have to navigate in order to get to the cash registers), I noticed this neat duo. It is the Urban Decay All Day All Night Travel Duo (original price $25.00 CAD, sale price $21.25 CAD for 2 x 30 ml). It contains one of my favourite setting sprays and something I have never tried before but was intrigued.

Sephora VIB Spring Sale 2017 - Urban Decay

If you don’t already know, I am a huge fan of UD’s All Nighter Setting Spray. I have been using it for years and it really doesn’t hurt to get another travel size of this product. Sure, I will take it when I travel but I don’t shy away from using it at home, too. The other product that came in this kit was UD’s Quick Fix Complexion Prep Priming Spray which I have not yet tried. This travel size will be a good opportunity to try a new product. 😉 And what a deal it was! They are $18.00 CAD each if you were to buy them separately.

Can you tell I love gift sets and kits? Because I really do! And I have one more!

I managed to snag the Tarteist Treats Eye & Lip Set (original price $33.00 CAD, sale price $28.05 CAD) that I had my eye on for awhile now. Well, to be perfectly honest, it was the Tarteist PRO to GO Amazonian Clay eyeshadow palette that I had my eye on for a long, long time but didn’t cave because of my no buy…. the other products in the kit were just a bonus!

Sephora VIB Spring Sale 2017 - Tarte

The Tarteist PRO to GO Eyeshadow Palette retails for $30.00 CAD by itself so for an extra $3.00 (or not… it was 15% and less than the regular price of just the palette so you are getting a better bargain!) it was worth it because you also got a liquid lipstick and mascara to boot! This kit also included a deluxe sample size of the Tarteist Lash Paint Mascara (2.5 ml) and Tarteist Glossy Lip Paint in WCW (1 ml). I have tried both of these products before so I’m happy with them.I love how compact the eyeshadow palette is (it is the same size as my holy grail Tartelette Tease mini palette!) because it is great for travel or to just keep in your purse. Overall a great set if you want to try a little bit of everything Tarteist. 🙂

Sephora VIB Spring Sale 2017 - Tarte

The last item was my planned splurge item. It was less of a deal than the other products. I purchased was the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Color Splash Lipstick in Island Life (original price $27.00 CAD, sale price $22.95 CAD). I have had my eye on these lipsticks since when they first came out but I waited for the sale before I splurged on one! The shade Island Life is described as a “rosy mauve” which is totally down my alley! I love these shades so much and I can totally see myself wearing it a lot. I haven’t worn it much yet but I do plan on writing a review on this product later.

Sephora VIB Spring Sale 2017 - Tarte

So that’s all I bought. Not a lot, really. Just some repurchases and two new items. Oh before I forget, a few freebies! They did give me a deluxe sized sample of this REN Wake Wonderful Night-Time Facial and a vial of Marc Jacobs Dot perfume.

Sephora VIB Spring Sale 2017

Oh and the bag! VIB Rouge members received a tote while supplies last. Quite honestly, I wasn’t expecting one because by the time my friend and I get to the store after work, they are usually all out the free totes. We sure lucked out this time! And this one is very different than the previous ones because it has a long strap that you can use like a crossbody messenger bag. And after some discussion, my friend and I figure adding a little bit of velcro would help in making it into a more functional bag you can use every day. Love it!

Sephora VIB Spring Sale 2017

Okay that really is the extent of my haul. I am proud to say that I didn’t go too crazy this time! I really didn’t need much else so it was pretty easy to stick to the list. For the most part anyways. The UD sprays were a spur of the moment splurge BUT I do love the All Nighter spray that you will see a full sized version in an empties post coming soon. I literally just finished it lasts week. (So really, this is also a repurchase of a holy grail!)

Did you shop the Sephora sale? What was in your haul? 🙂

Unboxing + Review: Rexall Topbox December 2016

topbox december 2016

The month of December was a bit puzzling when it came to Topbox – I had requested a Regular Topbox but I received a Rexall Topbox instead! That was very unexpected but a fun surprise nonetheless!

As you can see, the products come in a nifty Rexall tube. And of course, the products featured in this box are from brands that are sold at Rexall. It only makes sense!

For those of you who are not familiar with Topbox, it is a Canadian beauty box subscription. Topbox sends subscribers a monthly survey that also gives you a choice between a Regular Topbox that contains a surprise mix of four deluxe sized samples or full sized products or you can “wish” for a Prive box for the next month. And sometimes – like this month – Topbox collaborates with stores like Rexall to provide a curated box to some subscribers. Prive boxes typically contain products from one brand and can include one or more items. Always read the Prive box descriptions when you are filling out your wish list! Regardless whether you wish for a Prive box or stick a Regular one, it costs $12 + taxes and shipping is free. If you are interested in subscribing, I would appreciate it if you use my link here.

Now that the formalities are out of the way, let’s take a look at what I received in my Rexall Topbox! Scroll down to see pictures of each product.

  • Klorane Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk ($3.10 CAD, 30 g) – I don’t often use dry shampoo but it doesn’t hurt to keep some on hand, just in case! I tend to use dry shampoos more in the summer when I am camping. This one from Klorane worked well when I tried it and I do like the smell. I really like how this is available at the drugstore and is very cost effective (a full sized dry shampoo will set you back $15.50 CAD) compared to similar products.
  • NeoStrata All-in-One Cleansing Milk ($2.75 CAD, 25 ml) – This product is unique. I have never seen a no-rinse cleansing milk before! (Am I just sheltered?) You just put this on a cotton pad and then wipe your makeup off with it. Easy! I will be giving this a try. I have never tried NeoStrata products before and this one has me intrigued!
  • La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Levres Barrier Repairing Balm ($8.99 CAD, 7.5 ml) – This one is a full sized product! That’s always a plus. 🙂 This is coming at the right time for me, too. This looks to be a very moissturizing lip balm. This is perfect for me because it has been an extremely dry winter here in Alberta and my lips are a lot drier than usual. I haven’t tried this one yet but I will keep it on hand for when I finish one of the lip balms that are already in rotation.
  • Studio Makeup Soft Blend Eyeshadow in Jungle Green ($14.00 CAD, 2 g) – Lasts but not least, is a makeup item! I have heard good things about Studio Makeup eyeshadows but unfortunately this is not really my colour. Because of that (and because of my attempt at limiting the amount of makeup products that I have) I will be passing on this one and passing it on to someone who will appreciate it more!

So there you have it. My surprise Rexall Topbox was not too bad…. not great but not bad. The total value of my box came to $28.84 CAD. That is okay, I suppose, but I have seen higher value boxes in the past. Still,it was over the cost of the box itself and I will likely use three out of the four products that I received so that is still a plus.

Oh wait, that’s not all! I also received a couple of coupons that I can use at Rexall! They’re pretty good, if you ask me. They also included product information for NeoStrata and Klorane. The coupons I received are:

  • Save $10 when you spend over $50 on almost anything in-store. (Valid between December 10, 2016 to February 8, 2017)
  • One Free Kotex product (not to exceed $4.00)
  • $5 off your next La Roche-Posay purchase of $25 or more

Do you subscribe to Topbox? What did you think of December’s box?

Hope you all had a great weekend and an awesome week to come!

Project Pan: 16 in 2016 – Wrap Up and Results

Project Pan: 16 in 2016

Hi everyone! Welcome to my year-end wrap up of my 2016 Project Pan… um, project. 🙂

This was the very first time I have attempted a Project Pan before so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Quite honestly, it was more challenging that I thought. But now that we’re into a new year, I thought I would reflect back on my attempt in 2016 and see what types of changes I can make for the better going into my 2017 Project Pan. That’s right – I liked it enough to attempt another one!

The Results

Empties: 14/20 (minus one because I did remove one product from the last count of 21)
Left over at the end of 2016: 6/20

At the end of 2016, I had accomplished 14 empties for my Project Pan. This is two short of my goal of 16 but that’s still not bad, right? 14 is a good number and I am happy that I accomplished even that much! Plus, let’s not forget all the empties I had this year that were not included in my Project Pan. In my mind, those definitely count – I did still use them up this year! – so I did very well.

If you want to see my previous Project Pan posts, here are the links: Intro 1, Intro 2, Update 1, Mid-Year Update

Final Update

To dive into the specifics a bit more since my last update in the summer, I have finished the Dear By Enprani Bounce Cream Cheese moisturizer and the Dear By Enprani Believe in a Bottle toner. that I received in a Memebox so long ago. That’s what brought my empties total to 14 products. The following is what was left over:

  1. pur~lisse Blue Lotus 4-in-1 Eye Adore Serum (which I later removed from my Project Pan in favour of an eye cream that I was already using at the time)
  2. Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser – the never-ending tube, I swear! I did make a good dent in it, though. I would say that I am about 80% finished it…. a vast improvement from the maybe 20% at the beginning of 2016.
  3. PINK by Victoria Secret Party in Paradise Body Mist – I have many perfumes and many perfume samples… so I strayed from this… badly… especially after the first 6 months.
  4. The Body Shop Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder – sadly, this was probably a bad choice for my Project Pan in the first place. Why? Because I tan so easily and by the month of May, this product was not required and became irrelevant. So I stopped using it.
  5. MAC Cosmetics 4 Pan Palette – I tried so hard to use this as much as  could but I own so many other eyeshadows so I didn’t. It was too hard and I got bored. Next!
  6. Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blush in Adore – See #5. It’s virtually the same reason. I also realized that I didn’t like it very much anyways. While it’s a very pretty colour, it just wasn’t pigemented enough! Strongly considering just getting rid of it altogether.

Summary and Realizations

I found it much easier to use up skin care items. Mostly because I use skin care every day, during the day and night. It gets used. Those items were easy and I felt really accomplished when it came to my skin care Project Pan items.

Makeup was the challenge! I got bored with them and strayed to my other makeup. I’m sure by September I had stopped using all the makeup items completely in favour of my other products.

I learned a lot about myself during my first Project Pan attempt. For example, I learned a lot about skin care and what works for me. I also learned to have a skin care routine that is consistent – I’ve never washed my face before bed as consistently until doing this! I also use makeup wipes less in favour of great cleansers. I also learned that I do need a variety of makeup. Limiting myself to only a few things bored me… it was no fun. I needed other eyeshadows and blushes! Hence why it wasn’t so successful.

Changes for 2017

You better believe I am going to do a Project Pan again in 2017! I still have a ton of things to use up! When I decided to do one for 2017, I knew I had to take all my lessons learned to heart. So with that being said, I will be strictly concentrating on only skin care, body care and hair care. Things that I do actually use every day and have a chance at having a successful Project Pan. No makeup!

However, I do have something in store for makeup this year. Drumroll please – Monthly Shop My Stash posts!

Each month, I will pick a selection of makeup items. The goal is not to use up the products but to use it as much as I can during the month. Then when the month is up, repeat. By doing this monthly, my makeup will still get used and I won’t get bored! Plus by putting my makeup on rotation, I can’t forget about the makeup that I have. I will hopefully be less likely to purchase something that I may already have or already own that is similar. This also helps me as a distraction from buying new products during my No Buy that I started on January 1st.

Yes – I am currently on a No Buy! No set goal length… just for as long as I can. Wish me luck! 😉

I still have to give some thought as to what I am including in my 2017 Project Pan and the details surrounding it, such as, the number of items and what those items will be. But rest assured, when I do have it all figured out, you will see it here first!

Hope you are all having a wonderful first week in 2017! 🙂
