Unboxing + Review: ipsy November 2017 All You

ipsy november 2017

November was a very hectic and busy month! I had to put blogging aside in favour of things in real life that needed more attention at the time. Then with vacation towards the end of the month, time to spend blogging was quite scarce. So at the end of the day, November was spent taking a break to recharge from everything!

But I’m back now and I hope that my new content that I’m planning in the coming weeks will be well received. I know I need to go beyond Shop My Stashes and unboxings in order for my blog (and myself) to grow.

Right now, though, I would still like to share my November ipsy glam bag with you.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with ipsy, it is a monthly beauty subscription from the US. This subscription is $10.00 USD  a month in the US and $10.00 USD + $4.00 USD shipping for Canadians. You get a mix of skincare, makeup and haircare deluxe and full sized products. And you get a different style of bag each month. If you are interested in trying this subscription, please use my link here.

ipsy november 2017 all you

Getting on with the glam bag, November’s theme was All You. There were two jewel-toned bags available – one in gold and another in teal. I received the teal one which is perfect because other than my love for purple, I usually gravitate towards blues and greens. I’m not sure if I would’ve like the gold one at all. Within this teal bag were five items. Spoiler alert: I loved it all!

ipsy november 2017 all you

The first product I received was the Barfly Highlighter in the shade Candlelit from ‘Tini Beauty ($12.00 USD, 3.5 g, full sized). This is a cream highlighter stick that is super cute and super portable. Candlelit is a soft pink shade that is easy to apply and goes on super smooth. It’s very pigmented and also easy to blend. I’m a big fan of stick highlighters (and honestly, just highlighters in general!) so I’m looking forward to using this one more. Plus this is full sized! Can’t go wrong with that! I love receiving full sized items on my ipsy bag.

The Crown Brush C141 Chisel Brush ($5.69 USD, full sized) is so soft! This looks like it will be a great brush to apply powders like blush, highlighters and finishing/setting powders. Can’t say to to a new brush! Especially one this soft!

I’ve never tried MAC primers before so I was happy to see the MAC Prep + Prime Natural Radiance Primer ($5.00 CAN, 6 ml, deluxe sample). This is a highlighting primer so it’s said to give your face a glow. The description states that it controls oil, hydrates and smoothes you your complexion. The vitamin E and C that’s in this primer will help protect your skin from things like smog, pollution and free radicals. Looking forward to really giving this product a try!

As a self-proclaimed lip balm junkie, the Sky Iceland Berry Lip Fix ($7.00 CAN, 5 ml, deluxe sample) was a welcomed surprise! Add to that the temperatures are dropping so it was perfect timing. My lips are so dry from the colder temperatures! This is a vegan and all-natural lip balm.

Last but not least is a product from a brand that I really like. I received the tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blush in the shade Feisty ($10.00 CAN, 1.5g, deluxe sample). Feisty is a dusty rose shade… but from the looks of it, it looks more dusty than rose. I’m a big fan of these blushes! It’s great for both dry and oily skin. It’s easy to apply, blendable and buildable. I don’t have this shade yet so I will be adding this to my collection!

That’s it for November! The value of this bag was $44.57 CAN (based on today’s exchange rate). I adore everything that was in this bag so it was totally worth it for me this month!

How did your ipsy glam bag fare? Did you love it? Was it not so great? Share in the comments below!

Shop My Stash Recap: January & February 2017

shop my stash - january and february

Happy March everyone! We are just around the corner from spring! At least, I hope we are. It’s quite the cold snap we are experiencing this week!

Wow! The first two months of my Shop My Stash felt like it flew by! After using these products for about a month and a half now, I’m ready to make some decisions about them… some easier than others.

Before I introduce you to my March lineup, here is a quick recap from the January and February selections. If you’re just joining us now and you don’t know what the Shop My Stash series is all about, please see my introductory post about this. It contains a pretty thorough explanation as to what this is all about. 🙂 So let’s get started! And we really should get started now because there is a lot to cover so go grab a cup of tea or coffee because this is a long one! 😉

The Empties

So I have decided to start with the easy ones. These are the products I finished and will be thrown away. No decision required.. .it’s pretty much just garbage right now. 😉 I can feel my collection getting smaller already! Rather than adding these to a future empties post, I’ll provide a short review of them now.

shop my stash - january and february

Face Primer: Too Faced Primed + Poreless Skin Smoothing Primer
This was already about 85% empty when I started using it again. I really like this primer because it really smooths my skin, making it the perfect “blank canvas”. Definitely one that I will repurchase again! Now that I think about it, this was already my second full size tube I have finished… not to mention, I’m sure I finished at least two small deluxe sizes, as well. This is pretty close to Holy Grail… or maybe it already is!

Setting Powder: Laura Mercier Invisible Loose Setting Powder
If I can recall, I received this from a past ipsy glam bag and that it came with a small fan brush. I can’t for the life of me find the fan brush! But I finally ended up trying this product and I ended up really loving it! It did a great job setting my makeup and it didn’t look powdery on my skin at all. I was sad that it was just a sample. I know this product is more on the expensive side but I would still repurchase it. I am also curious as to how the other, more popular Laura Mercier translucent setting powder performs. I wonder if that one comes in a smaller deluxe size…

Brow Setting Gel: MAC Cosmetics Brow Set in Translucent
If I want to be completely honest, this is my holy grail brow gel. This was my second tube I have gone through. I didn’t have very much left going into this Shop My Stash. It does an amazing job setting my brows and, unlike others I have tried, it doesn’t make my brows look white and flakey. So yes, this is a fave. And guess what! I already repurchased it. On to the third tube…

Mascara: Elizabeth Arden Grand Entrance Mascara
I had a couple of these kicking around. I had started using this one back in December on my lower lashes only. I had lash extensions for my vacation at the time so I didn’t have a big need for a  mascara at the time. This one is not bad but it’s not my favourite. I did get racoon eyes sometimes so I wasn’t too impressed. I will likely swap or sell the other one that I have.

Mascara: Guerlain Maxi Lash Intense Volume Mascara
I had this sample that I was really curious about. I started using this in January and immediately after I started using it, I stopped using the Elizabeth Arden one mentioned above. While that one didn’t impress, the Guerlain Maxi Lash was a huge win for me! I love the wand. It’s not too big for my eyes. The bristles are small but I found that it worked really well with my lashes! This mascara added length and volume and I was so impressed with it. I love this sample so much that when I redeemed Shoppers Optimum points a few weeks back, I made sre to get one of these. I really hope the full size is just as good as the sample!

The Keepers

Moving on to the next category: The Keepers. These are the products that I love (or at the very least like) enough to keep it and use it at a future time.

shop my stash - january and february

Eye Primer:  Too Faced Shadow Insurance
This is pretty much my Holy Grail eye primer. This tube has been in use since October… I use it just about every day but since it’s an eye primer, I don’t need very much of it. I love how light it feels on my skin and it does such an amazing job at making my eyeshadow stay put! I have never had any issues with my eye makeup when I use this product. I’m just about done this tube and will be carrying it into March so hopefully it will turn into an empty.

Foundation/BB Cream: IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Color Correcting Full Coverage Cream + Anti-Aging Hydrating Serum + SPF50 in Tan
I picked this up from Ulta when I was in Florida two November’s ago. I picked it up in the shade Tan and can only use it when I’m… well… tanned. 😉 Which means this gets used the most in the summer or if I’m on a winter vacation somewhere tropical. The only reason why I can use this right now is because I was in Hawaii a few months ago. I really do like this foundation! Not only does it have a nice lemon scent, it also provides you with SPF 50. I love it when foundations contain sun protection! This foundation has a thick consistency but because of that, I find that  a little goes a long, long way! This is a medium to full coverage foundation that you can build but I don’t find it to be too heavy or sticky on my face. Love this one! Definitely a keeper. 🙂

Foundation/BB Cream:  NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer in St. Moritz
I do adore this BB cream! It provides light to medium coverage and feels so light on my skin. It’s not at all cakey and it doesn’t feel heavy. I love the convenience of this travel size (which proved to be my go-to during my last trip) and I think you do actually get more bang for your buck on this smaller tube than you would purchasing the full size. ($55 CAD for 1.9 oz vs $19 CAD for .58 oz) However, this only works if you use the St. Moritz shade because this is the only one available in the travel size. Either way, I don’t have many BB creams on my radar right now and since I’m so happy with this one, that’s totally okay. The only downside I found? This doesn’t have any sun protection. If it had that, it would be absolutely perfect!

Foundation/BB Cream: Neutrogena Healthy Skin Liquid Makeup SPF  20 in Fresh Beige
Not gonna lie, this is my fave foundation right now so it was a no brainer that I was keeping it! This has a nice medium coverage and it feels super light on my skin… like it’s not even there! Fresh Beige is the perfect shade for me right now but next time I go to the US, I will have to pick up a shade lighter for when I’m not tanned. It doesn’t oxide on me and lasts all day. It really doesn’t budge at all when I use a setting powder and spray with it. Plus, it has sun protection in the tune of SPF 20 so that is pretty great too. Honestly, everything about this makes it perfect for me! I’m sad we done get Neutrogena makeup in Canada. This product makes me wonder what else I’m missing out on from this brand.

Concealer:  COVERGIRL Outlast All-Day Concealer in Light
Still one of my favourite drugstore concealers to date! It gives me great coverage without being cakey. I have already raved about this extensively when I reviewed it so I will just leave a link to that post here.

Concealer: Maybelline Superstay Better Skin Concealer in Light/Medium
I am having pretty darn good luck with drugstore concealers lately. I really like this one too! It feels even lighter than the COVERGIRL one but I find that the coverage still works for me. Great for under your eyes and any dark spots. I will definitely continue to use this!

shop my stash - january and february

Eyeliner: IT Cosmetics No-Tug Waterproof Gel Eyeliner
I don’t often use pencil or gel liners because I find they don’t work as well as liquid liners with my hooded eyes. But this one is okay! So I will keep it. It doesn’t really smudge like all the others I have tried.

Eyeliner: Ciate Fierce Flicks Liquid Eyeliner
I’m very surprised at how much I like this! It’s easy to use, dries great, and doesn’t budge as the day goes on! I have been using this a lot… just about every day… since December that I just about completely wore out all the silver writing on the tube! Now what does that tell you???

Eyeshadow Primer: Elizabeth Mott Thank Me Later Eye Shadow Primer
I haven’t even tried this yet so I will keep it and give it a fighting chance in march when my Too Faced one runs out!

Face Primer: MAKE Moonlight Primer
Also a nice surprise! At first I really wasn’t sure about it because it was so dark but in the end it does go on clear and I ended up liking it. I really like how it also moisturizes. This is a keeper but I will be using it sparingly because I’m not sure where I can get more. That’s just fear of running out on my part.

Highlighter: Benefit Watts Up! Softfocus Highlighter for Face
This will always be a fave of mine! It is super easy to use and just gives me the perfect glow in just the right spots. I swear, though, this deluxe sized sample is lasting me forever! We are almost going on years  here.

Blush: Wet n Wild Color Icon Blusher in Pearlescent Pink
This is a great colour and this is a great blush! It is very pigmented so you can build it up if you want more colour. Keeping this one in my collection.

Blush: Mellow Face Blush in Bronze
A fave for sure! I am surprised that I like this bronze blush as much as I do but it really is great. When my skinis darker, this adds a very natural look on my cheeks. I imagine this would also make a nice matte bronzer for those with fairer skin.

Mascara Primer: Wet n Wild PhotoFocus Lash Primer
I like this. It does a great job prepping my lashes before I apply mascara and my mascara does stay put! I can’t get this at our local stores yet so I’m also keeping it due to how difficult it is to get here.

Setting Spray: Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray
Holy grail. I have been using this on and off for years now and I always go back to it! I can’t help it… it does a great job at keeping my makeup from smudging and makes it last all day long. Great stuff!

Eyeshadows: tarte Tartelette Palette, Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette, ColourPop Super Shock Shadow in Alchemy
I am just going to talk about all three of these together because I love them all! The tarte Tartelette Palette is made up of some really great neutral matte shades that you can use every day and for any occasion. The Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette has such great colours and a mix of matte, shimmer and glitter shades that you can use to make so many looks! This is such a versatile palette. I just love it! And of course, the ColourPop Super Shock Shadow in Alchemy give any eye look that added sparkle. I use it for all my looks, all the time. I’m so glad I bought backups because I actually hit pan! Here’s a quick look at my usage for each one.

The Rejects

Finally! We have looked at the empties and the loves. Now it’s time for the rejects that I will not be keeping. Other than empties, this is just another way I’m going to use to downsize my collection.

shop my stash - january and february

Face Primer: Too Faced Primed & Poreless Pure Oil-Free Skin Smoothing Face Primer
I must say, I just love Too Faced primers! This one, though, is one I think that I have a love-hate relationship with. This is the sensitive skin version which performs just as well as the regular one but I find this one is a bit thicker. It does makes my foundation stay in place but compared to the other one, this one made my skin a bit more oily. I will definitely continue using this deluxe sample until it’s all gone but I’m not too sure if I would purchase it again.

Colour Correction: Make Up Forever Step 1 Redness Correcting Primer
I rarely reached for this at all. I’m not sure why. Maybe colour correction just isn’t my thing? I mean, I forgot about it all the time! As a result, I didn’t use it very much so it’s time to move on.

Pore Reducer: Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser
I have been using this for a long time now. Almost two years? And it still hasn’t run out! It does do a good job but I feel like I’m tired of it and that I need a change. I will finish this until it’s gone but I won’t be repurchasing anytime soon. It’s time for a break!

Highlighter: City Color Highlight Trio
This highlighter trio was okay. It did the job and isn’t too overly sparkly. Don’t get me wrong, this wasn’t a bad product but I have so many other highlighters that I love more.

Brows: Annabelle Brow-To-Go Brow Shaping Kit
Great product but I have had this one for a long time now and it’s getting super messy up to the point where it’s not worth cleaning up. I have another one and other brow products I love so it’s okay for me to let this one go.

Brows: IT Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Eyebrow Pencil
Again, this one was just okay. It did a good job but it also didn’t make me go “wow!” as much as I wanted it to. I was disappointed because there’s been so much praise for this brow product but it was just okay for me. I will finish this one up but I don’t think I will repurchase it.

That’s all folks! If you made it this far, thanks for sticking with me! When I started this endeavor, I didn’t realize how much of a recap I had to do at the end so I will admit, it did take longer than I had expected to post this.

I’m happy with the amount of empties I ended up with (that would be five) and the number of products I decided I could do without (six of ’em). That’s a pretty good start for destashing and using up products in 2017! Looks like the first month and a half was a success so I will keep tally and keep going.

Now we’re well into March so keep a lookout for my March Shop My Stash list this weekend!

Enjoy the rest of your week. 🙂

Shop My Stash: January & February 2017

shop my stash january february 2017

A new year means a new blog series!

Last year I tried a Project Pan and for the most part it was very successful! Except for when it came to the makeup products. I got very bored of using the same three products so eventually I just stopped using them. So to help curb that boredom, I am trying something new this year: a monthly Shop My Stash!

What is a Shop My Stash?

It’s exactly what it sounds like. Every month, I will be going into my makeup collection and – you guessed it – I will shop my stash. 🙂 Just think of it as a haul post but instead of makeup I bought at Sephora or at Shoppers Drug Mart, it’s a haul straight from my own collection! And I’m hoping that by doing this monthly, I won’t get bored of the products I chose like I did in last year’s Project Pan.

Why Shop My Stash?

The reason why I wanted to start doing this is the following:

  1. My collection is too big and I need to start using more things up! More empties and more pans hit will be a glorious thing. I don’t know about you but I always feel accomplished when I hit pan or finish something.
  2. Knowing what I own. I don’t know about you but there have been times where I have forgotten that I owned something! I would like to get to know my collection and avoid buying duplicates of things.
  3. Rediscovery. Related to number 2. I know I own many products that I once loved but forgotten about. I would like to make those rediscoveries of old faves!
  4. Helps with the “no buy” attempts. I am hoping that by going through my existing stash and rediscovering products I already own will help curb my urges to go shopping. I don’t really need anything at this point so I would like to avoid spending money when I don’t have to!
  5. To save money. See point 4. Saving money is always a good thing!

How Shop My Stash Works

Every month I will take one or two of these types of products and put them in a basket.

  • Face primer
  • Color correction
  • Concealer
  • Foundation / BB Cream
  • Blush
  • Highlighter
  • Bronzer
  • Setting powder
  • Pore reducer
  • Eye primer
  • Eye shadow (palette or singles)
  • Eyeliner
  • Brow
  • Brow setting gel
  • Mascara primer
  • Mascara
  • Setting Spray

If you haven’t noticed, I did not include any lip products (lipstick, lipgloss, etc.) to my list. This is because they are already in rotation in my purse. I change them around a lot so I didn’t think they needed special attention like the rest of these products!

At the end of each month I will have to make a few decisions: keep the product, continue using it (for those holy grail products I must always use) or get rid of it. I’m hoping that by doing this I can help identify my loves and get rid of what I don’t want anymore. I hope that I can get my collection under control.

Don’t get me wrong, though. I am not going to be limited to only using what’s in my basket. If there’s something I want to use then by all means, I will! The basket is just there to help give me something to focus on that month.

Then at the end of the month, I will summarize my monthly basket (what I loved, what I didn’t love, etc.) and then I will pick out a new basket of products!

Shop My Stash for January & February 2017

So let’s get started! Here is the lineup for January and February. The reasoning behind having the same basket for two months is because I spent most of January just trying to figure out how I wanted this to work. By carrying it over into February, it gives me a chance to really try everything in my basket. After February, the baskets will be monthly. Here’s the lineup for the first installment!

These products should be more than enough variety for this month…. well, to be perfectly honest, I have already been using this basket of goods for half of January and I’m pleased with how it’s going so far. I hope this will help me use up my products and I would be happy to come out with a couple of empties! Not quite a “Project Pan” per se but still an attempt to use up what I have!

Check back in a month to see how it went and to see a new basket of products. 🙂

Until next month! Stay true to your Shop My Stash basket. 😉

Unboxing + Review: ipsy November 2016 Rockstarlet

ipsy glam bag november 2016

Happy Holidays everyone! I hope you’re all having a nice holiday season. It’s a busy time for sure!

I received my November ipsy weeks ago but it was right before vacation and I was SUPER busy during that time that I didn’t get a chance to write my unboxing post yet!

For those of you who are not familar with this subscription, ipsy is a monthly beauty bag based out of the US but is also available to Canadians. It is $10.00 USD  a month in the US and $10.00 USD + $4.00 USD shipping for Canadians. You get a mix of skincare, makeup and haircare deluxe and full sized products. And you get a different style of bag each month. If you are interested in trying this subscription, please use my link – much appreciated!

November’s ipsy bag’s theme was Rockstarlet. The bag itself is very unique and shows constellations in the shape of various makeup and beauty items. So cute! I love stars so this was perfect for me. 🙂 It comes in two colorways – gold and silver constellations on the deep navy blue –  and I ended up with gold. I would have been happy with either!

The items, on the other hand, were very hit or miss for me this month. More hits than misses, though, so that was good! Let’s see what came in my November glam bag.

The first thing I received was the Ciate Liquid Velvet Matte Liquid Lipstick in Diva ($7.00 CAD, 2 ml). Blue-toned red shades don’t work for me.  I’ve tried many times now and I just can’t pull it off! So unfortunately, it’s a pass. I didn’t even want to open it to see how the consistency and feel was because I knew right away that this was going to be passed on to someone who will use it. I do see that there are other shades that I think I would prefer so I may have to try this another time.

ipsy glam bag november 2016

Next up is the Luxie Beauty Rose Gold Small Duo Fiber Brush (524T) ($16.08 USD). This is the travel sized version of their 524 brush. Luxie is one of my favorite brush brands so I was very happy to see this! This small duo fiber brush will be great for foudation, setting powder, cream blushes… you name it! This is very much a versatile brush that can be used with many different products in many different ways. I love this!

ipsy glam bag november 2016

I also received a deluxe sample of the pur~lisse Blue Lotus Balancing Moisturizer ($16.50 USD, 15 ml). I love getting moisturizers during this time of year because we have SUCH dry winters in Alberta! Any moisture helps! I have also really enjoyed other products I have tried from this brand so this looks promising to me. I love how it is said to provide hydration and prevents fine lines and wrinkles… you cannot go wrong with that at all! Looking forward to trying this one out!

ipsy glam bag november 2016

My fourth item was the ‘Tini Beauty Eyetini Eyeshadow in the shade “Firestarter” ($13.00 USD, 1.6 g). What a gorgeous colour! The shade Firestarter is described as a “burnished amber chrome”.  It is nicely pigmented and I do like it. I also have a soft spot for duochrome eyeshadows. 😉

ipsy glam bag november 2016

And the last item was the Too Faced Better than Sex Mascara ($15.00 CAD, 4.8 g). This travel sized mascara is a great value item to receive in this bag! While this mascara doesn’t quite work for me – I turn into a racoon by the end of the day as this seems to always smudge under my eyes for some reason! – I know that it does work for others so this would be a great score in one’s bag! In my case, I will be passing on this.

ipsy glam bag november 2016

There was excellent value in this bag and the items I received were all from great brands! The overall value of my November ipsy glam bag came out to around $82.79 CAD (based on today’s exchange rate) so that’s great to see. This was definitely a hit or miss bag for me and I only like three out of the five items but it’s still worth it to me! The mascara and liquid lipstick will find a great home, I’m sure!

What was your favorite item from the November ipsy glam bag?

Hope you all have an amazing week!

Haul: Sephora VIB Sale Fall 2016

sephora vib sale haul

I really wanted to get this post up as soon as possible, it time for the VIB sale that starts today!

It’s that time of year! It’s time for the Sephora VIB Sale! 20% off whatever your little heart desires at Sephora! They only have discounts twice a year (barring the Friends & Family discount that seems to have become more difficult to get this year) so it is not very often you can save at Sephora. The November sale is the perfect time to replenish your goods and buy Christmas presents. With that being said, I decided to show you my haul in case it gives you ideas on what you would like to get during this year’s VIB sale (the VIB Rouge sale was last weekend) or just general gifting ideas for this holiday season.

Due to the sheer amount of stuff I have to go through from sub boxes and the like (hence why my project pan and empties posts are so important to me), I tried very hard not to go overboard this year. Usually I shop in-store and online but this year, I limited myself to shopping in-store only.  I shopped the VIB Rouge sale with my equally (if not more) beauty-crazed friend and we had a blast wandering around the store, seeing what’s new and just having some much needed girl time and retail therapy.

Enough chatter! Let’s get to the haul! Some items, I purchased to replenish and replace an old one I already had. Some of these were on my Loves list as things I wanted to try. One of them… well, one of them was a spur of the moment splurge because my friend twisted my rubber arm (but it was totally worth it, you’ll see!). And I redeemed for one 100 point perk.

First thing’s first, let’s take a look at what was replenished. These are the items that I already use today and I either ran out of or are very close to running out of. Also, please forgive the fact that these items are not pictured with the rest of my haul above… they were already put in their designated spots and I had started to use them already! But I will bring them all together again to take this picture to add later on – time is of the essence here so I won’t let that get in the way from posting this tonight. 🙂

  • Too Faced Born This Way Naturally Radiant Concealer in Medium: I needed a replacement for my Urban Decay concealer that I finished awhile ago. And while I do have the Tarte Shape Tape, I’m trying not to use it too often as it’s not available here in Canada. So this was my pick! I haven’t tried this Too Faced one before but so far I’m impressed! Excellent coverage and Medium is a good colour match for me. To be fair, I do have the Born This Way foundation and I love it.
  • Alterna Haircare Bamboo Smooth Kendi Oil Dry Oil Mist: I first received a deluxe sample of this in a swap and fell n love! I was being very stringent of my deluxe sample because I was afraid of running out. Problem solved.
  • NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer in St. Moritz: Going on a hot vacation and I needed a light tinted moisturizer for those days when I don’t want to cake on a heavy foundation. I tried a foil sample of this and it was great and it’s my choice to bring on my holidays. This travel sized tube is perfect! i’m so glad that the travel size comes in my shade. 🙂

Okay, those three were the big three. The important stuff I had to get. Next up are the products that represent a subset of my Loves list.

  • Buxom 6 Degrees Below Sexy Mini Full- On Lip Polish Collection: I saw Tati review this and knew I had to have it! Buxom is one of my favourite brands! Their lip products are amazing! I use them all the time. The lip polishes are somewhat sheer so I can use them daily, everywhere I go! They make your lips tingle, too. The shades included in this set are Dominique (glittering ice), Amy (golden nude), Celeste (prismatic soft peach), Clair (starry plum haze), Starr (brandy cordial), Jasmine (black cherry) . Such a great deal at $40 considering one full sized lip polish costs $24.00 CAD alone.
  • Bite Beauty The Perfect Bite Set: Eee! I was very excited for these! Mainly because 1) I love mini lipsticks and 2) there are two shades in this set that I have been waiting to try! This set comes with four miniature versions of Bite Beauty’s Amuse Bouche lipsticks- Fig, Pepper, Honeycomb and Nori. While I can already tell that Honeycomb (a beige nude) is not my style and that Nori (a deep brown red) will only be used sometimes when I need more colour, I was stoked to see that Pepper (a dusty rose) and Fig (a nude rose) was included because they have been on my list for what seems like forever! And what better way to try the new formulation than with this amazing set? All of these shades are available in Bite’s permanent line so if you fall in love with them, you can get a full size. 🙂
  • Tatcha Kyoto Cleanse Set: I had received the Tatcha Pure One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil in a swap and loved it right away. I don’t use cleansing oils to wash my face every day so this 25 ml travel size is great for me. I’m sure it will still last me awhile! I thought this set, which includes the cleansing oil, was a great deal because it also allows you to try other Tatcha products.  This set also includes travel size of the Polished Classic Rice Enzyme Powder (10 g) and Supple Moisture Rich Silk Cream (2 ml).
  • drybar Merry Mini Must-Haves: I have always wanted to try drybar products. It’s been sitting in my Loves list – the Triple Sec 3-in-1 in particular! – and this travel sized set was the final push to finally try drybar out! So far I have only tried the Triple Sec and so far so good as a texturizer! And it smells amazing! This set also comes with the Detox Dry Shampoo and Detox Dry Conditioner.
  • Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Beauty on the Go: This set contains Brazilian Bum Bum Cream (75 ml) and Brazilian Kiss Cupuaçu Lip Butter (6.2 g). The first time I saw this project was when I was in line at Sephora during a quick stop to get something I had run out of and while standing in line my hubby asked “What is bum bum cream?” At the time, I really had no idea… so I looked a little more into it and the more I looked, the more I was intrigued. It is said to “absorb quickly to keep skin looking and feeling tight, firm and smooth”. I’ve been using it all week and I’m quite happy with it. While I haven’t used it long enough to say anything about its firming properties, it seems to do everything else. Plus it smells amazing!I haven’t tried the lip butter yet. Overall, this was totally worth it!

Well, twist my rubber arm! The next one was the unplanned purchase. I was trying my hardest to not buy an eyeshadow palette but when I saw it in person, it was really hard to say no! This was my unexpected splurge.

  • Anastasia Beverly Hills Master Palette By Mario: It really is such a beautiful palette! And the shadows are SO pigmented. I don’t often go for overly warm palettes but I just couldn’t help it. I have been using it almost every day for the last week and I love it! I will definitely be writing up a review on this one. Just a quick hint: this palette is sold out online but my store (along with many others) still have many of these in stock! So if you want one, check out your neighbourhood Sephora. 😉

And last but not least, I redeemed 100 points for one thing. I got the last one at this store. 😉

  • Too Faced Melted Matte Liquified Long Wear Matte Lipstick in Sell Out: It has been a long time since I have seen a 100 point perk that I was actually interested in! But since I still haven’t tried these liquid lippies before, I thought this was perfect. I get to try something new plus I love smaller lippies because they are great to keep in your purse. Sell Out is a “matte soft pinky-brown” so I’m hoping this works out for me!

That’s it! I think I did well to keep my purchases down to only things I needed to replenish and to items that I knew that I would love. I definitely didn’t go overboard this time so that was a huge plus! I hope this post was useful or fun at the very least. I love seeing everyone else’s hauls and I love to share mine. 🙂

What do you want me to review and feature on the blog in the near future? Let me know in the comments below! 🙂
