Haul: Sephora VIB Sale Spring 2017

Sephora VIB Spring Sale 2017

It’s that time of year again! Sephora had their spring sale this past week and I decided to stop by the store on the first day of the sale. The first day for VIB Rouge members was on April 18th and you received 15% off your entire purchase.  VIB  members received 15% off and BI members received 10% but their sale started a day later. It’s a great perk for Rouge members to be able to start shopping a day before everyone else because you are likely to find what you want and it’s not sold out yet.

Sephora only has sales twice a year (once in April which is 15% and once in November which is 20%) so it is a great time to get stuff you have added to your Loves list at a discount.

I am on a low buy which had started as a no buy but that was darn near impossible for me to keep up. Because of that I didn’t end up with a massive haul. My bank account is quite thankful and now I have some spending money for a couple of things that are coming up. Whew.

Anyways, let me take you through my haul. It includes some products that are already a favourite of mine, others which I haven’t tried before but would like to because I heard it was great and a couple of things I had my eye on for a little while now. So a good mix, if you ask me! Let’s take a look at each of them, one by one. Please note that the first prices shown below are the product’s regular price at Sephora and does not take into account the 15% discount yet but the second price does.

I did end up getting some skincare during the sale. I bought the Caudalie Vinosource Hydrating Helpers set (original price $59.00 CAD, sale price $50.15 CAD) because it contained a full size of my favourite moisturizer and then some. This limited edition kit is such a great deal and contains the following items:

  • Caudalie Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet, 40 ml (retails for $49.00 CAD and is full size)
  • Caudalie Grape Water, 75 ml (retails for $14.00 CAD and is full size)
  • Caudalie Moisturizing Mask, 15 ml (deluxe size that would retail for $9.00 CAD)

Sephora VIB Spring Sale 2017 - Caudalie

With two full sized items. this is totally a win. I have had a couple of deluxe samples of the Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet and I really like it. My skin feels great after using it and it keeps my skin hydrated. It absorbs quickly and is not sticky. While the smell seems a bit like herbs, I don’t mind it at all and the smell doesn’t linger. I have heard good things about both the Grape Water and Moisturizing Mask so I’m looking forward to trying them.

And that tin! How cute is that? I have a huge soft spot for Paris too so this was perfect for me. I have already decided how to repurpose it and that I will be using it for my brushes… the excess that is clean and isn’t currently in use and in my brush cup on my vanity. Glad I have a way to repurpose the tin. πŸ™‚

Walking past the “gauntlet of doom” (which is what I call that dangerous area that you have to navigate in order to get to the cash registers), I noticed this neat duo. It is the Urban Decay All Day All Night Travel Duo (original price $25.00 CAD, sale price $21.25 CAD for 2 x 30 ml). It contains one of my favourite setting sprays and something I have never tried before but was intrigued.

Sephora VIB Spring Sale 2017 - Urban Decay

If you don’t already know, I am a huge fan of UD’s All Nighter Setting Spray. I have been using it for years and it really doesn’t hurt to get another travel size of this product. Sure, I will take it when I travel but I don’t shy away from using it at home, too. The other product that came in this kit was UD’s Quick Fix Complexion Prep Priming Spray which I have not yet tried. This travel size will be a good opportunity to try a new product. πŸ˜‰ And what a deal it was! They are $18.00 CAD each if you were to buy them separately.

Can you tell I love gift sets and kits? Because I really do! And I have one more!

I managed to snag the Tarteist Treats Eye & Lip Set (original price $33.00 CAD, sale price $28.05 CAD) that I had my eye on for awhile now. Well, to be perfectly honest, it was the Tarteist PRO to GO Amazonian Clay eyeshadow palette that I had my eye on for a long, long time but didn’t cave because of my no buy…. the other products in the kit were just a bonus!

Sephora VIB Spring Sale 2017 - Tarte

The Tarteist PRO to GO Eyeshadow Palette retails for $30.00 CAD by itself so for an extra $3.00 (or not… it was 15% and less than the regular price of just the palette so you are getting a better bargain!) it was worth it because you also got a liquid lipstick and mascara to boot! This kit also included a deluxe sample size of the Tarteist Lash Paint Mascara (2.5 ml) and Tarteist Glossy Lip Paint in WCW (1 ml). I have tried both of these products before so I’m happy with them.I love how compact the eyeshadow palette is (it is the same size as my holy grail Tartelette Tease mini palette!) because it is great for travel or to just keep in your purse. Overall a great set if you want to try a little bit of everything Tarteist. πŸ™‚

Sephora VIB Spring Sale 2017 - Tarte

The last item was my planned splurge item. It was less of a deal than the other products. I purchased was the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Color Splash Lipstick in Island Life (original price $27.00 CAD, sale price $22.95 CAD). I have had my eye on these lipsticks since when they first came out but I waited for the sale before I splurged on one! The shade Island Life is described as a “rosy mauve” which is totally down my alley! I love these shades so much and I can totally see myself wearing it a lot. I haven’t worn it much yet but I do plan on writing a review on this product later.

Sephora VIB Spring Sale 2017 - Tarte

So that’s all I bought. Not a lot, really. Just some repurchases and two new items. Oh before I forget, a few freebies! They did give me a deluxe sized sample of this REN Wake Wonderful Night-Time Facial and a vial of Marc Jacobs Dot perfume.

Sephora VIB Spring Sale 2017

Oh and the bag! VIB Rouge members received a tote while supplies last. Quite honestly, I wasn’t expecting one because by the time my friend and I get to the store after work, they are usually all out the free totes. We sure lucked out this time! And this one is very different than the previous ones because it has a long strap that you can use like a crossbody messenger bag. And after some discussion, my friend and I figure adding a little bit of velcro would help in making it into a more functional bag you can use every day. Love it!

Sephora VIB Spring Sale 2017

Okay that really is the extent of my haul. I am proud to say that I didn’t go too crazy this time! I really didn’t need much else so it was pretty easy to stick to the list. For the most part anyways. The UD sprays were a spur of the moment splurge BUT I do love the All Nighter spray that you will see a full sized version in an empties post coming soon. I literally just finished it lasts week. (So really, this is also a repurchase of a holy grail!)

Did you shop the Sephora sale? What was in your haul? πŸ™‚

Shop My Stash: April 2017

shop my stash april 2017

I know, I know – I haven’t even finished my March recap yet but I really wanted to get my April basket up on the blog before the end of the month! πŸ˜‰ My March recap is still in the works but should be up very, very soon!

What is a Shop My Stash?

It’s exactly what it sounds like. Every month, I will be going into my makeup collection and – you guessed it – I will shop my stash. πŸ™‚ Just think of it as a haul post but instead of makeup I bought at Sephora or at Shoppers Drug Mart, it’s a haul straight from my own collection! And I’m hoping that by doing this monthly, I won’t get bored of the products I chose like I did in last year’s Project Pan.

If you’re interested, you can find my other Shop My Stash posts here.

How Shop My Stash Works

Every month I will take one or two of these types of products and put them in a basket.

  • Face primer
  • Color correction
  • Concealer
  • Foundation / BB Cream
  • Blush
  • Highlighter
  • Bronzer
  • Setting powder
  • Pore reducer
  • Eye primer
  • Eye shadow (palette or singles)
  • Eyeliner
  • Brow
  • Brow setting gel
  • Mascara primer
  • Mascara
  • Setting Spray

If you haven’t noticed, I did not include any lip products (lipstick, lipgloss, etc.) to my list. This is because they are already in rotation in my purse. I change them around a lot so I didn’t think they needed special attention like the rest of these products!

At the end of each month I will have to make a few decisions: keep the product, continue using it (for those holy grail products I must always use) or get rid of it. I’m hoping that by doing this I can help identify my loves and get rid of what I don’t want anymore. I hope that I can get my collection under control.

Don’t get me wrong, though. I am not going to be limited to only using what’s in my basket. If there’s something I want to use then by all means, I will! The basket is just there to help give me something to focus on that month.

Then at the end of the month, I will summarize my monthly basket (what I loved, what I didn’t love, etc.) and then I will pick out a new basket of products!

Shop My Stash for April 2017

My version of Project Pan. I am so glad that I didn’t put too much in my March basket and as you will see when I post my recap, it worked really well! I was able to focus on certain products and really get a feel for them so I am going to stick to a focused basket for April, as well.

Similar to last month, I will have some products from last month which I will have carried over into April. Mostly in the mascara department because I’d rather use them up before I open up a new one!

Let’s take a peek at my basket for April. My makeup basket, I mean. Not to be mistaken for the Easter bunny’s basket. πŸ˜‰

  • Eye shadow (palette or singles): Too Faced Natural Eyes Neutral Eye Shadow Collection, tarte Tartelette tease palette – both of these are my oldies but goodies!  Needing some love this month. πŸ™‚

There’s my mix for April. Probably the smallest basket yet but full of goodies I love or things I feel like I need to just finish already. I’m still enjoying my Shop My Stash journey this year! It doesn’t get boring when I make a monthly basket. πŸ™‚

Just a random question to my readers – are you enjoying these types of posts? Let me know what other types of posts you want to see on the blog!

I should have my March recap up by the end of the week so please be sure to check back!

Enjoy your week everyone. πŸ™‚

Shop My Stash Recap: January & February 2017

shop my stash - january and february

Happy March everyone! We are just around the corner from spring! At least, I hope we are. It’s quite the cold snap we are experiencing this week!

Wow! The first two months of my Shop My Stash felt like it flew by! After using these products for about a month and a half now, I’m ready to make some decisions about them… some easier than others.

Before I introduce you to my March lineup, here is a quick recap from the January and February selections. If you’re just joining us now and you don’t know what the Shop My Stash series is all about, please see my introductory post about this. It contains a pretty thorough explanation as to what this is all about. πŸ™‚ So let’s get started! And we really should get started now because there is a lot to cover so go grab a cup of tea or coffee because this is a long one! πŸ˜‰

The Empties

So I have decided to start with the easy ones. These are the products I finished and will be thrown away. No decision required.. .it’s pretty much just garbage right now. πŸ˜‰ I can feel my collection getting smaller already! Rather than adding these to a future empties post, I’ll provide a short review of them now.

shop my stash - january and february

Face Primer: Too Faced Primed + Poreless Skin Smoothing Primer
This was already about 85% empty when I started using it again. I really like this primer because it really smooths my skin, making it the perfect “blank canvas”. Definitely one that I will repurchase again! Now that I think about it, this was already my second full size tube I have finished… not to mention, I’m sure I finished at least two small deluxe sizes, as well. This is pretty close to Holy Grail… or maybe it already is!

Setting Powder: Laura Mercier Invisible Loose Setting Powder
If I can recall, I received this from a past ipsy glam bag and that it came with a small fan brush. I can’t for the life of me find the fan brush! But I finally ended up trying this product and I ended up really loving it! It did a great job setting my makeup and it didn’t look powdery on my skin at all. I was sad that it was just a sample. I know this product is more on the expensive side but I would still repurchase it. I am also curious as to how the other, more popular Laura Mercier translucent setting powder performs. I wonder if that one comes in a smaller deluxe size…

Brow Setting Gel: MAC Cosmetics Brow Set in Translucent
If I want to be completely honest, this is my holy grail brow gel. This was my second tube I have gone through. I didn’t have very much left going into this Shop My Stash. It does an amazing job setting my brows and, unlike others I have tried, it doesn’t make my brows look white and flakey. So yes, this is a fave. And guess what! I already repurchased it. On to the third tube…

Mascara: Elizabeth Arden Grand Entrance Mascara
I had a couple of these kicking around. I had started using this one back in December on my lower lashes only. I had lash extensions for my vacation at the time so I didn’t have a big need for a  mascara at the time. This one is not bad but it’s not my favourite. I did get racoon eyes sometimes so I wasn’t too impressed. I will likely swap or sell the other one that I have.

Mascara: Guerlain Maxi Lash Intense Volume Mascara
I had this sample that I was really curious about. I started using this in January and immediately after I started using it, I stopped using the Elizabeth Arden one mentioned above. While that one didn’t impress, the Guerlain Maxi Lash was a huge win for me! I love the wand. It’s not too big for my eyes. The bristles are small but I found that it worked really well with my lashes! This mascara added length and volume and I was so impressed with it. I love this sample so much that when I redeemed Shoppers Optimum points a few weeks back, I made sre to get one of these. I really hope the full size is just as good as the sample!

The Keepers

Moving on to the next category: The Keepers. These are the products that I love (or at the very least like) enough to keep it and use it at a future time.

shop my stash - january and february

Eye Primer:  Too Faced Shadow Insurance
This is pretty much my Holy Grail eye primer. This tube has been in use since October… I use it just about every day but since it’s an eye primer, I don’t need very much of it. I love how light it feels on my skin and it does such an amazing job at making my eyeshadow stay put! I have never had any issues with my eye makeup when I use this product. I’m just about done this tube and will be carrying it into March so hopefully it will turn into an empty.

Foundation/BB Cream: IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Color Correcting Full Coverage Cream + Anti-Aging Hydrating Serum + SPF50 in Tan
I picked this up from Ulta when I was in Florida two November’s ago. I picked it up in the shade Tan and can only use it when I’m… well… tanned. πŸ˜‰ Which means this gets used the most in the summer or if I’m on a winter vacation somewhere tropical. The only reason why I can use this right now is because I was in Hawaii a few months ago. I really do like this foundation! Not only does it have a nice lemon scent, it also provides you with SPF 50. I love it when foundations contain sun protection! This foundation has a thick consistency but because of that, I find that  a little goes a long, long way! This is a medium to full coverage foundation that you can build but I don’t find it to be too heavy or sticky on my face. Love this one! Definitely a keeper. πŸ™‚

Foundation/BB Cream:  NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer in St. Moritz
I do adore this BB cream! It provides light to medium coverage and feels so light on my skin. It’s not at all cakey and it doesn’t feel heavy. I love the convenience of this travel size (which proved to be my go-to during my last trip) and I think you do actually get more bang for your buck on this smaller tube than you would purchasing the full size. ($55 CAD for 1.9 oz vs $19 CAD for .58 oz) However, this only works if you use the St. Moritz shade because this is the only one available in the travel size. Either way, I don’t have many BB creams on my radar right now and since I’m so happy with this one, that’s totally okay. The only downside I found? This doesn’t have any sun protection. If it had that, it would be absolutely perfect!

Foundation/BB Cream: Neutrogena Healthy Skin Liquid Makeup SPF  20 in Fresh Beige
Not gonna lie, this is my fave foundation right now so it was a no brainer that I was keeping it! This has a nice medium coverage and it feels super light on my skin… like it’s not even there! Fresh Beige is the perfect shade for me right now but next time I go to the US, I will have to pick up a shade lighter for when I’m not tanned. It doesn’t oxide on me and lasts all day. It really doesn’t budge at all when I use a setting powder and spray with it. Plus, it has sun protection in the tune of SPF 20 so that is pretty great too. Honestly, everything about this makes it perfect for me! I’m sad we done get Neutrogena makeup in Canada. This product makes me wonder what else I’m missing out on from this brand.

Concealer:  COVERGIRL Outlast All-Day Concealer in Light
Still one of my favourite drugstore concealers to date! It gives me great coverage without being cakey. I have already raved about this extensively when I reviewed it so I will just leave a link to that post here.

Concealer: Maybelline Superstay Better Skin Concealer in Light/Medium
I am having pretty darn good luck with drugstore concealers lately. I really like this one too! It feels even lighter than the COVERGIRL one but I find that the coverage still works for me. Great for under your eyes and any dark spots. I will definitely continue to use this!

shop my stash - january and february

Eyeliner: IT Cosmetics No-Tug Waterproof Gel Eyeliner
I don’t often use pencil or gel liners because I find they don’t work as well as liquid liners with my hooded eyes. But this one is okay! So I will keep it. It doesn’t really smudge like all the others I have tried.

Eyeliner: Ciate Fierce Flicks Liquid Eyeliner
I’m very surprised at how much I like this! It’s easy to use, dries great, and doesn’t budge as the day goes on! I have been using this a lot… just about every day… since December that I just about completely wore out all the silver writing on the tube! Now what does that tell you???

Eyeshadow Primer: Elizabeth Mott Thank Me Later Eye Shadow Primer
I haven’t even tried this yet so I will keep it and give it a fighting chance in march when my Too Faced one runs out!

Face Primer: MAKE Moonlight Primer
Also a nice surprise! At first I really wasn’t sure about it because it was so dark but in the end it does go on clear and I ended up liking it. I really like how it also moisturizes. This is a keeper but I will be using it sparingly because I’m not sure where I can get more. That’s just fear of running out on my part.

Highlighter: Benefit Watts Up! Softfocus Highlighter for Face
This will always be a fave of mine! It is super easy to use and just gives me the perfect glow in just the right spots. I swear, though, this deluxe sized sample is lasting me forever! We are almost going on years  here.

Blush: Wet n Wild Color Icon Blusher in Pearlescent Pink
This is a great colour and this is a great blush! It is very pigmented so you can build it up if you want more colour. Keeping this one in my collection.

Blush: Mellow Face Blush in Bronze
A fave for sure! I am surprised that I like this bronze blush as much as I do but it really is great. When my skinis darker, this adds a very natural look on my cheeks. I imagine this would also make a nice matte bronzer for those with fairer skin.

Mascara Primer: Wet n Wild PhotoFocus Lash Primer
I like this. It does a great job prepping my lashes before I apply mascara and my mascara does stay put! I can’t get this at our local stores yet so I’m also keeping it due to how difficult it is to get here.

Setting Spray: Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray
Holy grail. I have been using this on and off for years now and I always go back to it! I can’t help it… it does a great job at keeping my makeup from smudging and makes it last all day long. Great stuff!

Eyeshadows: tarte Tartelette Palette, Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette, ColourPop Super Shock Shadow in Alchemy
I am just going to talk about all three of these together because I love them all! The tarte Tartelette Palette is made up of some really great neutral matte shades that you can use every day and for any occasion. The Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette has such great colours and a mix of matte, shimmer and glitter shades that you can use to make so many looks! This is such a versatile palette. I just love it! And of course, the ColourPop Super Shock Shadow in Alchemy give any eye look that added sparkle. I use it for all my looks, all the time. I’m so glad I bought backups because I actually hit pan! Here’s a quick look at my usage for each one.

The Rejects

Finally! We have looked at the empties and the loves. Now it’s time for the rejects that I will not be keeping. Other than empties, this is just another way I’m going to use to downsize my collection.

shop my stash - january and february

Face Primer: Too Faced Primed & Poreless Pure Oil-Free Skin Smoothing Face Primer
I must say, I just love Too Faced primers! This one, though, is one I think that I have a love-hate relationship with. This is the sensitive skin version which performs just as well as the regular one but I find this one is a bit thicker. It does makes my foundation stay in place but compared to the other one, this one made my skin a bit more oily. I will definitely continue using this deluxe sample until it’s all gone but I’m not too sure if I would purchase it again.

Colour Correction: Make Up Forever Step 1 Redness Correcting Primer
I rarely reached for this at all. I’m not sure why. Maybe colour correction just isn’t my thing? I mean, I forgot about it all the time! As a result, I didn’t use it very much so it’s time to move on.

Pore Reducer: Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser
I have been using this for a long time now. Almost two years? And it still hasn’t run out! It does do a good job but I feel like I’m tired of it and that I need a change. I will finish this until it’s gone but I won’t be repurchasing anytime soon. It’s time for a break!

Highlighter: City Color Highlight Trio
This highlighter trio was okay. It did the job and isn’t too overly sparkly. Don’t get me wrong, this wasn’t a bad product but I have so many other highlighters that I love more.

Brows: Annabelle Brow-To-Go Brow Shaping Kit
Great product but I have had this one for a long time now and it’s getting super messy up to the point where it’s not worth cleaning up. I have another one and other brow products I love so it’s okay for me to let this one go.

Brows: IT Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Eyebrow Pencil
Again, this one was just okay. It did a good job but it also didn’t make me go “wow!” as much as I wanted it to. I was disappointed because there’s been so much praise for this brow product but it was just okay for me. I will finish this one up but I don’t think I will repurchase it.

That’s all folks! If you made it this far, thanks for sticking with me! When I started this endeavor, I didn’t realize how much of a recap I had to do at the end so I will admit, it did take longer than I had expected to post this.

I’m happy with the amount of empties I ended up with (that would be five) and the number of products I decided I could do without (six of ’em). That’s a pretty good start for destashing and using up products in 2017! Looks like the first month and a half was a success so I will keep tally and keep going.

Now we’re well into March so keep a lookout for my March Shop My Stash list this weekend!

Enjoy the rest of your week. πŸ™‚

Shop My Stash: January & February 2017

shop my stash january february 2017

A new year means a new blog series!

Last year I tried a Project Pan and for the most part it was very successful! Except for when it came to the makeup products. I got very bored of using the same three products so eventually I just stopped using them. So to help curb that boredom, I am trying something new this year: a monthly Shop My Stash!

Why Shop My Stash?

The reason why I wanted to start doing this is the following:

  1. My collection is too big and I need to start using more things up! More empties and more pans hit will be a glorious thing. I don’t know about you but I always feel accomplished when I hit pan or finish something.
  2. Knowing what I own. I don’t know about you but there have been times where I have forgotten that I owned something! I would like to get to know my collection and avoid buying duplicates of things.
  3. Rediscovery. Related to number 2. I know I own many products that I once loved but forgotten about. I would like to make those rediscoveries of old faves!
  4. Helps with the “no buy” attempts. I am hoping that by going through my existing stash and rediscovering products I already own will help curb my urges to go shopping. I don’t really need anything at this point so I would like to avoid spending money when I don’t have to!
  5. To save money. See point 4. Saving money is always a good thing!

Shop My Stash for January & February 2017

So let’s get started! Here is the lineup for January and February. The reasoning behind having the same basket for two months is because I spent most of January just trying to figure out how I wanted this to work. By carrying it over into February, it gives me a chance to really try everything in my basket. After February, the baskets will be monthly. Here’s the lineup for the first installment!

Unboxing + Review: ipsy January 2017 metropolis

ipsy january 2017

How did time fly by so quickly? It’s already February! Alright, it’s time for all my January unboxings! Let’s begin with ipsy. I’m still subscribing to ipsy so here’s to a new year of fab surprises from my glam bag subscription!

January’s glam bag theme was Metropolis. As they say, it is “everything you need to own the concrete jungle” and features a bag that represents this perfectly with greys and silvers! While this is not my fave bag I’ve seen from ipsy, it’s still nice and if you love silver, this is perfect for you!

The contents really made January’s glam bag great for me, though. Let’s take  a look at what I received!

ipsy january 2017

The first item I received was a sample of the IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Illumination Anti-Aging Concealer in Medium ($4.50 USD, 1.5 ml). While I do find it really thick, the regular Bye Bye Under Eye does a fantastic job with my undereye circles so I was really looking forward to trying this one out. Similar to the original, this one is thick, in consistency, as well. You don’t need to apply very much of it in order to build up great coverage…. in fact, if you put on too much, I find that it really accentuates fine lines AND it takes forever to blend so be sure to only use a little bit. I did find it to brighten my under eye area, as well so I was pretty happy with this product. And since you don’t need very much each time, this tiny tube will still last me quite awhile! Very pleased with this.

So next we have the pur~lisse Blue Lotus Seed 5-in-1 Mud Mask + Exfoliant ($11.14 USD, 15 ml). I haven’t tried this one yet. I have a couple of deluxe sized masks that are open that I’d like to finish first before I open up a new one. This one is a 10 minute facial that is said to be a “miracle multi-tasker (that) instantly brightens, detoxifies, tightens and soothes skin while providing gentle exfoliation”. Those are all pretty great things to look for in a mask and since I personally love masks, I will definitely be trying this one out sooner than later.

This next one was the big surprise winner in my bag – the Temptu Base Smooth and Matte Primer ($8.75 USD, 7.5 ml). I honestly didn’t think that I would be as impressed as I was with this primer! I have had very limited experience with this brand so I wasn’t sure what to expect when I received this plain Jane, white squeeze tube but I tried it and I’m very happy with it! It made my skin super smooth! The consistency is very light and it sets quickly. My makeup looks great overtop this. The only downside I could see was the size of the bottle – I wish it were bigger! And to think I almost overlooked this one because of it’s simplicity.

Now on to a couple of colour products. I received the Trust Fund Beauty Lip Gloss in Method to the Madness ($22.00 USD, 4 ml). This lip gloss is a nude rose shade that is so great for every day wear. This looks pretty sheer on my lips. I can definitely see myself wearing this alone or on top of a lipstick to give it a bit of a shine. It feels moisturizing on my lips and I don’t find it stick at all. Overall, I really like this gloss!

Last but not least, I received the Paradise Pearlized Blush from Manna Kadar Beauty ($19.00 USD, 3 g). This shade is so beautiful and is described as a “vivid cherry blossom pink”. Looking at the Manna Kadar site, it looks like it was a blush from their Day Dream Palette that was released as an individual blush. It must have been pretty popular then! It’s very pigmented and a bit shimmery but I’m totally okay with that! I also love that this product is paraben free and it’s from a cruelty free brand. So much to love!

So this brings me to the end of my unboxing. The value of the contents in January’s bag is $65.39 USD (which would make it  $85.18 CAD based on today’s exchange rate) so this is indeed a higher value bag. I will be using everything I received so I’m very happy with it!

BUT WAIT! There’s more!

I redeemed a lot of points last month! I received three products from ipsy points:

  • Farsali Rose Gold Elixir Radiating Moisturizer ($11.67 USD, 5 ml): I have heard many great things about this moisturizer! I haven’t had a chance to try it yet, though. Ideal for daytime use for all skin types, this moisturizer contains 24k gold flakes. Super intriguing! They even have a tip on their site as to how to use this with your foundation which I will try because I have been using the tarte Maracuja Oil this way and I have been loving it! I wonder how this one compares?
  • Luxie 227 Blending Brush ($15.70 USD): I love Luxie brushes and I can never get enough blending brushes, to be honest. I had to get this one too!
  • Lisa Hoffman Matte Gold Fragrance Necklace with Tuscan Fig Fragrance Beads ($100 – $200 USD, estimated): I don’t see this particular necklace on the Lisa Hoffman website but all her fragrance necklaces are upwards of $100.00 USD up to over a grand! I don’t know where this one stacks up but I’ve seen these necklaces before and always wondered about them so I wanted to try it out. I really like the scent of the Tuscan Fig beads and this necklace is so pretty! You can wear it with pretty much everything. I’m glad I took a chance on this one!
